About this opportunity
The Port of Corpus Christi, Texas is seeking bids for construction of a new mooring dolphin at Oil Dock 15, with proposals due August 27, 2026. The scope includes installing a 96-inch monopile, concrete pile cap, 100-ton quad mooring hook, catwalk system, and catwalk support pile.
The project is designed to support a berthing facility for vessels approximately 820 feet in length, with dock platform elevation at +15 feet MLLW and final dredge depth of approximately −57.5 feet MLLW. Design is based on a comprehensive geotechnical engineering study prepared by Professional Service Industries, Inc. (dated July 15, 2016 and commissioned under CH2M HILL Engineers, Inc. Award Number 10381-7-102531). The study includes subsurface stratigraphy from three land borings to 130 feet depth and three marine borings to 150 feet depth, cone penetrometer testing, flat plate dilatometer testing, and field vane shear testing. Geotechnical recommendations specify axial bearing capacity analysis via APILE software, factors of safety for pile compression ranging from 2.0 to 3.0, tension pile factors of safety between 2.0 and 3.0, slope stability analysis with target minimum factors of safety of 1.3 (undrained), 1.5 (drained), and 1.1 (rapid drawdown), and Site Class D classification per 2012 International Building Code with seismic design parameters SS = 0.065g and S1 = 0.021g.
