About this opportunity
The Ohio Department of Commerce - State Fire Marshal Division is seeking a qualified contractor to install non-armored OM3 fiber optic cabling and associated components within their facility located at 8895 E Main Street in Reynoldsburg. The procurement involves comprehensive fiber infrastructure upgrades, specifically requiring installation, termination, testing, and documentation of network connectivity components across multiple rooms. Key deliverables include installing LC-style duplex jumpers, new 6-strand and 12-strand fiber optic cables between Rooms 1133, 1320, 1510, and 1505, and mounting new Single Panel Housing (SPH) units with LC connector panels. The solicitation requires precise cable routing, including running jumpers along desk tops to prevent future damage and terminating all strands in existing rack-mounted and Panduit enclosures. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with proposal submissions due by October 1st, 2025. Technical requirements specify all fiber terminations must utilize LC/UPC style connectors, emphasizing the need for specialized technical expertise.
While no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions were explicitly detailed in the procurement documents, the project appears to require advanced fiber optic installation capabilities. The contract involves working within an existing technological infrastructure, specifically integrating new fiber optic cabling with current network switch and enclosure systems. The procurement targets upgrading infrastructure to support the Qumulo Project, suggesting potential advanced technological requirements for potential bidders. Although no specific budget range was provided, the complexity of the installation across multiple rooms and the specialized technical requirements indicate this is likely a mid-range technical infrastructure project. Prospective contractors will need demonstrated experience in fiber optic cabling installation, network infrastructure integration, and precise technical implementation within a government facility setting.
