About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a qualified contractor to remove and replace overhead doors at the NW District St Joseph Maintenance Complex through an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The project involves removing existing overhead doors, operators, and accessories, and installing new doors across three buildings: Building A Maintenance Operations (7 doors), Building D Roadside Operations (7 doors), and Building F Traffic Signs (2 doors). Each new door installation requires specific components including trolley operators, insulated windows, remotes, photo eyes, springs, weather stripping, control stations, tracks, and safety stops. The bid period runs from October 16, 2024, to October 30, 2024, with bids due by 2:00 PM CDT on October 30, 2024. A mandatory site visit is required for bid acceptance, which must be scheduled with Matt Moppin at 816-262-3799. The project has a strict completion deadline of March 28, 2025, with liquidated damages of $500 per day assessed for late completion. Contractors must provide a bid bond or equivalent for 5% of the bid amount and will be required to submit a 100% performance and payment bond upon award.
The solicitation encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with a goal of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation, though these are not mandatory requirements. Contractors must comply with prevailing wage requirements for Buchanan County under Annual Wage Order #31 and must self-perform a minimum of 10% of the total project work. Specific insurance requirements include $4,000,000 in general liability and automobile liability coverage, as well as workers' compensation insurance. All workers must possess OSHA 10-hour training certification and provide valid identification before beginning work. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project involving 16 total overhead doors across three buildings suggests a substantial contract value. The procurement is open to qualified contractors who can meet the technical specifications, safety requirements, and performance standards outlined in the detailed solicitation documents.
