About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the NW District Savannah Mechanic and Wash Bay Building Project located in Andrew County, Missouri. The procurement seeks a contractor to construct a 92'-8" wide x 55' deep x 16'-4" eave height structure with 2 x 6 exterior perimeter wood stud walls on a concrete foundation and footings. The project encompasses comprehensive construction elements including a 6" concrete floor slab, wood trusses, 26-gauge metal wall and roof panels, insulation, plumbing, mechanical, electrical systems, and incidental site work. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with pricing evaluated based on total cost. Key dates include a virtual pre-bid conference scheduled for January 21, 2021 at 10:30 AM, with site visits coordinated through Matt Moppin. Written questions are due by January 27, 2021 at 3:00 PM, and bids are due on February 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM CST. The project must be completed by August 18, 2021, which includes 15 days for submittals.
The solicitation encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with specific participation goals of 10% and 5% respectively. Service-Disabled Veteran (SDV) and Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SDVE) participation is also encouraged. Bidders must provide a 5% bid bond and the successful contractor will be required to furnish a 100% performance and payment bond. The project requires compliance with prevailing wage requirements under Annual Wage Order #27 for Andrew County and adherence to OSHA safety programs and COVID-19 safety protocols. Contractors must maintain commercial general liability insurance ($500,000 per person/$3,000,000 per occurrence), automobile liability insurance with similar limits, and workers' compensation coverage. Liquidated damages of $700 per day will be assessed for late completion, and the contractor must provide a one-year warranty on all materials and equipment. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, bids will only be accepted electronically through MissouriBUYS or via mail/carrier service, with no walk-in submissions permitted.
