About this opportunity

The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative is issuing a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerator Program (MMAP) for FY27, with grant applications due July 24, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST. This is a grant program, not a procurement contract; eligible applicants are Massachusetts-based manufacturers with fewer than 500 employees seeking capital funding to modernize operations and adopt technologies.

Eligible entities are small and medium-sized manufacturers incorporated and operating in Massachusetts. Previous MMAP grant recipients are ineligible. Grant funding covers capital purchases only — new or used equipment and software recorded as capital expenditures under GAAP — with maximum awards of $300,000 per applicant. Match requirements are 50% for grants up to $100,000 and 100% for grants between $100,001 and $300,000; match contributions may be capital or non-capital expenditures or in-kind contributions from sources other than state funding.

Awardees undergo third-party capital equipment assessments conducted by a CAM-selected nonprofit partner to identify appropriate capital purchases, participate in cohort-based activities including peer-to-peer learning and expert guidance, and access support in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, robotics and automation, quality assurance, and workforce development. All equipment must remain in Massachusetts for a minimum of five years after installation. Grant funds must be spent within 18 months of grant agreement execution.

Evaluation criteria include company profile and readiness, alignment with accelerator priorities, workforce impact potential, process improvement and innovation opportunities, market potential, diversity and equity considerations, and absence of debarment status. Applications are submitted via online Airtable form. Grant funds are paid to the nonprofit partner, which reimburses manufacturers; funds are not disbursed directly to awardees. An informational webinar is scheduled for June 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM EST. Questions are accepted on a rolling basis at proposals@masstech.org.
