This is a set-aside for small and socially and economically disadvantaged businesses (SSLC).
Attendance at a mandatory on-site visit on June 15 or June 16, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the facility (2501 Maple Street, Abilene, Texas 79602) is required for bid eligibility. The scope covers weekly interior pest control for roaches, ants, silverfish, fleas, lice, beetles, ticks, mites, spiders, and stinging insects at a 52-building complex totaling 472,997 square feet, plus 175 acres of exterior property, and as-needed interior and exterior services for bed bugs, termites, carpenter ants, bees, and other wood-destroying insects. The contractor must provide 24-hour emergency response availability seven days per week and furnish glue traps for staff placement. All costs for labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and waste disposal are the contractor's responsibility.
The initial contract term runs September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2029, with no renewal options, though HHSC reserves the right to extend for up to one year if necessary. Pricing must be firm and fixed for the three-year term. Historical annual spending is $79,700, provided as a guideline only. Required insurance includes workers' compensation ($1 million per accident), commercial general liability ($1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate), commercial auto liability ($1 million combined single limit), professional liability ($1 million), and umbrella liability ($1 million). HUB subcontracting plans are encouraged but not required.
