About this opportunity

Gatesville Independent School District (GISD) in Texas is seeking qualified contractors through a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the demolition and replacement of acoustical ceiling grid and ceiling tile systems at the Junior High campus. The project encompasses approximately 30,000 square feet of ceiling work, including the removal of existing materials and installation of new suspended ceiling grid systems, 2x2 acoustical ceiling tiles, and vinyl-faced 2x2 white ceiling tiles in kitchen and food service areas that comply with USDA requirements. Work scope includes coordination around existing building systems, daily cleanup, debris disposal, and protection of existing finishes while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety regulations. Evaluation criteria include price and discounts, vendor location, reputation, quality of goods and services, ability to meet district needs, past relationships with the district, RFP compliance, impact on historically underutilized business requirements, project schedule and on-time completion ability, and warranty information. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Gatesville JR High, located at 307 S. Lovers Lane, Gatesville, TX 76528. Sealed proposals must be submitted by Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. to LeighAnn Goodwin, Assistant Superintendent of Finance, 311 S. Lovers Lane, Gatesville, TX 76528. Contract awards will be announced on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 5:30 p.m., with work commencing within 14 days of award and completion required by July 24, 2026.

The RFP does not specify explicit set-aside designations; however, evaluation criteria include consideration of impact on historically underutilized business requirements, suggesting the district values minority and disadvantaged enterprise participation. All proposers must complete mandatory forms including the Proposer Information Response Form, references list, deviation and compliance signature form, resident and nonresident certification, anti-collusion statement, conflict of interest questionnaire, Certificate of Interested Parties (Form 1295), Model SB9 Certification Form, felony conviction notice, House Bill 89 verification, Senate Bill 252 certification, and IRS Form W-9. No incumbent vendors or existing contractors are identified in the procurement documents. Proposals must remain firm for 60 days from the award date, freight costs must be included in all unit prices, and deliveries are restricted to Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. The district reserves the right to award the contract based on the lowest responsible bid or may consider splitting the award among multiple vendors. While no specific budget range is listed, payment will be issued within 30 days of invoice receipt provided all materials are new, meet specifications, and are received in good order.
