About this opportunity
Northview Public Schools is requesting trade contractor proposals for an athletic stadium addition and renovation at 4451 Hunsberger Avenue NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with bids due November 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time via Procore Bidding and a mandatory pre-bid walkthrough on October 6 at 9:00 a.m. Bidders must be prequalified as Rockford Construction vendors prior to contract award; the Construction Manager will execute Trade Contractor Agreements using standard terms and conditions.
The scope includes selective demolition, concrete, masonry, structural steel, general trades, roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, excavation, asphalt, landscaping, synthetic turf, and fencing. No single trade contract may exceed 50% of the Lump Sum Base Bid without written approval from Rockford Construction. Bids must include sworn and notarized statements covering familial relationships, Iran Economic Sanctions Act certification, criminal background, non-collusive attestation, legal status, and an Equal Opportunity Form. Bid security of 5% of the Base Bid is required as a bid bond or certified check. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds covering 100% of contract value are due within 15 days of contract acceptance, unless the individual contract is under $50,000.
The project is not subject to prevailing wage requirements but is subject to Michigan use and sales tax. Change order fees are capped at 10% for labor and materials, 5% for trade contractor quotes, and net invoice charges for bond premiums. Proposals remain firm for 90 days from bid opening. Post-bid interviews, if required, will be conducted via Zoom between November 4 and November 25, 2026, with an anticipated award date of December 15. Construction is scheduled to begin Fall 2027 with substantial completion as phased in the project plan. Bidders are encouraged to utilize minority, woman, and handicapped-owned businesses. A virtual Zoom attendance option for the public bid opening will be distributed 48 hours prior.
