About this opportunity
The Glynn County Board of Commissioners is seeking bids for the North Glynn Sports Complex Lighting Upgrade Project, which involves a comprehensive lighting renovation for the tennis and pickleball courts located at the North Glynn Recreation Complex. The project specifically targets 4 tennis courts and 12 pickleball courts situated in 4 separate fenced areas, with each area currently containing 9 light poles equipped with 12 1500W metal halide lights per pole. The primary objectives include upgrading existing lighting to LED technology, maintaining or exceeding recreational court lighting quality standards, replacing the entire wiring system to support new LED infrastructure, and updating light control systems and timers. Interested vendors must provide all necessary skills, labor, and materials to complete the full lighting system transformation. The contract opportunity was posted on April 14, 2025, with bid submissions due by May 14, 2025, giving potential contractors approximately 30 days to prepare and submit comprehensive proposals. Bidders will need to demonstrate technical expertise in sports complex lighting systems, electrical infrastructure upgrades, and LED conversion technologies.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the project appears to be a standard competitive procurement open to qualified electrical and sports infrastructure contractors. The project is geographically associated with Glynn County, Georgia, though the opportunity was also linked to Dooly County's jurisdiction. No incumbent vendor information or specific budgetary constraints were disclosed in the available materials. The scope of work suggests a significant infrastructure investment, likely requiring specialized electrical contracting capabilities and experience with sports complex lighting systems. One attached government file (GPR attachment.pdf, 92KB) may contain additional detailed specifications or requirements that could provide further insight into potential vendor qualifications or project parameters. Potential bidders should carefully review all documentation and be prepared to demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in LED lighting installation, electrical system retrofitting, and sports complex infrastructure upgrades.
