About this opportunity

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking bids for a project to upgrade the patient bathroom safety in the A Tower of the Central Regional Hospital located in Granville County, North Carolina. The project involves renovating seven shower rooms and fifty-seven single patient toilet/shower rooms, including installing new hygienic wall coverings, safety flooring, removing and reinstalling toilet accessories and plumbing fixtures, and providing new grab bars in accessible rooms. The project will be constructed under a single prime contract, with a 250 consecutive calendar day contract period. A mandatory pre-bid walkthrough will be held on March 4, 2024, and sealed proposals are due by 3:00 PM on April 4, 2024. Bidders must submit a 5% bid bond and provide 100% performance and payment bonds if awarded the contract.

The project has a 10% goal for participation by minority-owned businesses, and bidders must submit the required MBE forms. Allowances are provided for the complete renovation of both non-accessible and accessible toilet/shower rooms. The use of certain preferred alternate products, including Whiterock wall coverings and Altro Aquarius safety flooring, is specified. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating all trades and must follow strict protocols regarding patient rights, confidentiality, and on-site safety. The state reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.
