Bill Nichols State Veterans Home is soliciting Quick Quote responses to replace a relief valve that failed testing on its #1 domestic backflow device, with responses due November 4, 2026. Suppliers must be registered in Alabama Buys and submit electronically through that platform before the close date. Work is performed at the home's Alexander City, Alabama campus during normal weekday hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The vendor must replace the valve, retest the #1 domestic backflow device, and provide documentation for code compliance. The total contract cost is capped at $25,000, the not-to-exceed amount. The contract may be renewed annually by written agreement up to that $25,000 total or five years from the effective date, whichever is reached first. The state may consider price escalation requests if supported by documentation, with approved increases capped at 5 percent of annual contract cost and counted against the $25,000 total.
