About this opportunity

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) is soliciting bids for the new construction of Post 21 in Sylvania, located in Talbot County. This project requires a comprehensive construction effort that encompasses all aspects of building a new state patrol post, including site work, equipment procurement, labor, supervision, and necessary permits. The contractor must provide complete construction services under the jurisdiction of the Georgia State Fire Marshal, with work commencing immediately after award notification. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM, meeting at the Screven County Parks & Recreation entrance. Bidders must submit a 5% bid bond with their proposal, and the bid is due by October 21, 2025. Key requirements include completing a notarized GA Security and Immigration Affidavit, providing liability insurance with DPS as the certificate holder, and demonstrating current registration with the Georgia Department of Revenue and Secretary of State's Office.

Contractors must be prepared to submit performance and payment bonds equal to the bid amount within 10 days of the Notice of Award. While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned, the procurement process emphasizes vendor responsibility through tax compliance and registration checks. The project involves constructing a new state patrol facility adjacent to the Screven County Parks & Recreation department, suggesting a relatively standard government infrastructure project. Although a specific budget range is not provided, the requirement for performance and payment bonds indicates a substantial project investment. Potential bidders should carefully review all attached documents and ensure complete compliance with the state's procurement requirements, including uploading all necessary documentation and potentially offering early payment discounts.
