About this opportunity
The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries is seeking bids from commercial boat owners for the New Bedford Mitigation Quahog Planting contract opportunity. The Division is looking to hire vessel owners to plant up to 4,500 bushels of contaminated quahogs harvested from the Taunton River in Conditionally Approved waters within New Bedford municipal waters. The contracted boat owners will be responsible for offloading trailers and planting the quahogs between June 15th and December 31st annually. The bid response deadline is May 28, 2019, with an estimated contract start date of June 17, 2019. The Division may award up to 4 contracts, but reserves the right to award more or fewer as deemed appropriate. Payment to contractors will be made monthly upon written confirmation from the New Bedford Shellfish Constable that the contracted quantity of quahogs has been successfully planted. The total estimated value of the procurement is $40,500.
The RFR includes requirements for the Supplier Diversity Program, which encourages participation of Minority and Women Business Enterprises as well as Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed, and the RFR does not mention any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration.
