About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a contractor for the NE District Mexico Mechanics Overhead Sectional Doors & Opener Replacement project in Atchison County. The procurement involves removing existing overhead doors, operators, and accessories from the MoDOT facility located at 1600 Christopher Drive in Mexico, Missouri, and installing three new overhead doors: one 14'x14' and two 16'x14' doors. The project requires comprehensive installation of trolley operators, glass openings, remotes, photo eyes, EMT wiring, springs, weather stripping, 3-button control stations, tracks, and all necessary components to create a fully functional door system. Bidders must schedule a mandatory site visit with Warren Ratliff prior to submitting their proposal. The bid period runs from May 8, 2024, to May 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM CDT, with a project completion deadline of September 10, 2024. Written questions are due by May 14, 2024, at 3:00 PM, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all mandatory specifications. Liquidated damages of $200 per day will be assessed for late completion.
MoDOT encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with targeted participation goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE. Service-Disabled Veteran (SDV) businesses may also be eligible for preference. The contractor must maintain specific insurance coverages, including general liability of $600,000 per person/$4,000,000 per occurrence, automobile liability of $600,000 per person/$4,000,000 per occurrence, and workers' compensation coverage with $1,000,000 employer's liability. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the project will be priced as a lump sum contract with Net 30 payment terms. MoDOT will provide power to the receptacles for operators, but the contractor must complete all safety light wiring. The project requires compliance with various state regulations, including the Domestic Products Procurement Act, Drug-Free Workplace Act, and provisions related to employment of unauthorized aliens. Bids can be submitted electronically through MissouriBUYS or by mail, with a one-year warranty required on all building materials and equipment.
