About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking sealed bids for the NE District Canton Salt Dome Roof Restoration Project, located in Lewis County, Missouri. The project involves comprehensive roof replacement for a salt dome structure with a 61-foot diameter conical dome situated on a 6-foot concrete wall and standing approximately 23 feet tall. Specifically, the scope requires removing existing three-tab shingles, felt underlayment, approximately 20 roof vents, and flashing, and replacing them with 30-year or greater warranted composite architectural shingles, synthetic underlayment, aluminum flashing, and 750 metal roof vents. Bids will be accepted electronically, via mail, UPS, or FedEx, with a firm submission deadline of June 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM CDT. The project must be completed by October 24, 2023, which includes 15 days for submittals, and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Bidders are required to contact Michael.Yoder@modot.mo.gov five business days before bid closing if submitting a hard copy, and while no pre-bid conference is scheduled, potential contractors may arrange site visits by contacting Warren Ratliff.
MoDOT encourages minority and women-owned business participation, with specific goals of 10% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and 5% Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation. The project requires a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or bank money order for 5% of the bid amount, with the successful bidder required to provide a 100% performance and payment bond. Liquidated damages of $300 per day will be assessed for late completion. Contractors must maintain specific insurance coverage, including general liability of $500,000 per person/$4,000,000 per occurrence, automobile liability with similar limits, and workers' compensation coverage. The project is subject to prevailing wage requirements for Lewis County under Annual Wage Order #29. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, bidders are required to provide a lump sum project price and a per-sheet price for potential additional 7/16" CDX sheathing replacement. Contractors must also demonstrate enrollment in a federal work authorization program like E-Verify and provide proof of lawful presence if operating as a sole proprietorship or partnership.
