About this opportunity
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is soliciting sealed bids for replacement of the obsolete fire alarm system at Nash Correctional Institution in Nashville, North Carolina, with bids due June 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. — failure to attend the pre-bid meeting results in bid disqualification. General contractors must hold a North Carolina General Contractors license with Intermediate or Unlimited classification.
Bidders are required to submit the Identification of Minority Business Participation form and either Affidavit A or Affidavit B as applicable; failure to complete these forms results in bid rejection. A cash deposit or certified check equal to no less than 5 percent of the proposal amount, or alternatively a bid bond of 5 percent executed by a North Carolina-licensed surety company, must accompany each bid. Performance and payment bonds at 100 percent of the contract price are required. Payment will be made on 95 percent of monthly estimates, with final payment upon completion and acceptance.
The project will be awarded as a single prime contract requiring lump sum proposals. Complete bid documents are available for inspection through plan rooms at isqft.com, dodge.construction.com, bidclerk.com, and theinstitutenc.org, and through The Institute in Durham, North Carolina. Documents may be obtained upon deposit of $150.00 in cash or certified check, with full refund provided documents are returned in good condition within ten days after the bid date. Sealed bids will be opened publicly immediately following the 2:00 p.m. closing time. No bid may be withdrawn after closing for a period of 60 days.
