About this opportunity
The State of Maine is requesting bids on twelve Motorola PM400 mobile VHF two-way radios configured for MURS operation with vehicle installation services, with bids due February 3, 2010. The radios must operate on VHF frequencies of 146–174 MHz with power output of 1–25 watts and be configured for five designated MURS channel frequencies (151.820, 151.880, 151.940, 154.570, and 154.600 MHz) in compliance with 47 CFR 95.632 and 95.633.
Each standard package includes the radio unit, heavy-duty palm microphone, hang-up clip, mounting bracket, power cable, and operating manuals with a two-year warranty. The setup package encompasses radio configuration and programming plus complete vehicle installation, including antenna mounting with minimum 3dB gain permanently affixed to vehicles, connection to the vehicle electrical system via the ignition switch, and all necessary cabling and connectors. Installation must take place at an Aroostook County location designated by the selected vendor, with all equipment delivered to allow installations to commence within 10 business days of award and completed within 15 business days of award.
Bidders must submit separate per-unit costs for the standard package and the setup package, including all shipping and handling costs to the installation site. All deliveries must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities and technicalities, and award to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value. In-state bidders and those offering Maine-produced commodities or services receive tie-bid preference. Transportation charges must be prepaid and borne by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes are excluded from bids as the State is tax-exempt.
