About this opportunity
The City of Tampa Fire Rescue Department is issuing a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for the procurement of two RAE Systems MultiRAE Pumped Portable Multi-gas Monitors, specifically Model MBB3-A1C112E-420, to support the department's Hazardous Materials unit. The multi-gas detectors must be equipped with 10.6 eV PID, LEL, H2S, CO, and O2 sensors, lithium-ion batteries, and wireless capabilities to enable real-time access to instrument readings and alarm status from remote locations. The primary objective is to enhance safety and situational awareness by providing commanders and safety officers with immediate visibility into hazardous materials detection and incident response capabilities. Quotes must be submitted electronically through the OpenGov solicitation system with a deadline of April 14, 2026, and pricing must include unit costs per detector with extended total pricing for the two-unit quantity, with all shipping, handling, and freight charges included on an FOB Destination basis. Quote prices must remain valid for a minimum of sixty days, and delivery must occur within the timeframe specified in the technical specifications section. The City reserves the right to award by line item or aggregate total, adjust quantities without penalty, add or delete items, reject any or all quotes, or cancel the solicitation if funds are unavailable. Payment will be made within approximately thirty days following receipt and acceptance of materials, correct invoices, and normal processing.
The procurement documentation does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions limiting responses to particular organizations or disadvantaged enterprises. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the solicitation materials. Standard provisions apply regarding insurance requirements, Florida Public Records Law compliance, non-discrimination policies, indemnification, and employee verification through the E-Verify system. The specific budget or award value for this procurement is not disclosed in the available documentation. Prospective vendors should note that the equipment must integrate with the existing infrastructure and systems used by Tampa Fire Rescue's Hazardous Materials unit, and the detectors' wireless capabilities must function within the department's operational environment. All inquiries and submissions must be conducted through the OpenGov platform in accordance with the solicitation procedures outlined in the RFQ.
Opportunity text
Tampa Fire Rescue's H.I.T 6 unit uses many tools and instruments to deal with any and all calls dealing with hazardous materials, gasses, and fluids. One of the instruments they use and oversee the maintenance of for other stations is the Multi-Rae Gas detector. The specific one they requested features compatibility with sensors such as PID, NDIR for combustibles and CO2, ammonia, chlorine, formaldehyde, and phosphine and more. This will improve safety by providing commanders and safety officers real-time access to instrument readings and alarm status from any location for better situational awareness and faster incident response.
