About this opportunity

Palm Beach County, Florida is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase and delivery of mulch products, specifically red wood chips, gold wood chips, and non-dyed wood chips. The County seeks firm, fixed unit pricing per cubic yard delivered on an as-needed basis to multiple locations throughout Palm Beach County. Red and gold wood chips must be composed of 70 percent pallet wood and 30 percent hardwood, dyed with iron oxide, while non-dyed wood chips must be virgin hardwood free of contaminants; all products are limited to a maximum 3-inch length or 0.5-inch diameter. Successful quoters must deliver materials within five calendar days of receiving a delivery order in bulk loads with a minimum of 100 cubic yards, with all pricing submitted as F.O.B. destination inclusive of transportation, off-loading, equipment, and associated costs. Quotations must be submitted by March 31, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. local time via fax or email to Kerry L. Parker in the Purchasing Department, and prices must remain firm for 90 days from opening and throughout all initial and subsequent contract terms. All quoters must be registered in the County's Vendor Self Service system, maintain current business tax receipts, comply with E-Verify requirements, and comply with commercial non-discrimination policies outlined in Palm Beach County Resolution 2017-1770.

The County offers a 5 percent local preference for quoters with a permanent place of business in Palm Beach County and implements an Equal Business Opportunity Program with participation goals for small, minority, and women-owned businesses. The successful quoter will be awarded a twelve-month term contract with an anticipated value of $98,000, with options to renew for four additional twelve-month periods on mutually agreed terms; however, the County retains the right to increase or decrease the anticipated value as necessary and to re-quote at any time after the anticipated contract value is reached. No incumbent vendors or existing contractors are identified in this procurement opportunity. This procurement presents opportunities for local suppliers and disadvantaged enterprises seeking to establish relationships with Palm Beach County for ongoing mulch supply and delivery services.
