About this opportunity

The Town of Brookhaven is soliciting bids for removal and replacement of approximately 4,760 square feet of damaged concrete slab at its Municipal Solid Waste Transfer Station located at 350 Horseblock Road, with bids due March 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. and a mandatory pre-bid site visit on March 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Landfill Administration Building. High early strength concrete is a non-negotiable specification — the facility must return to service within 24 hours, and standard-strength concrete mixes are not acceptable.

Work occurs at two designated locations within the transfer station building; exact slab locations will be determined later. The facility remains operational throughout construction, requiring contractors to coordinate closely with the Town to minimize disruption, maintain safe access, and sequence work to allow reopening of repaired areas after 24 hours. Concrete mix designs, placement methods, curing procedures, and construction sequencing must be specifically selected to achieve accelerated strength gain per Contract Specifications.

The contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. The Town welcomes and encourages minority and women-owned businesses and HUD Section 3 businesses to participate. Stasi General Contracting, LLC was awarded an identical or substantially similar contract within the past five years.

Technical questions must be submitted in writing by close of business March 5, 2026 to aboland@brookhavenny.gov. Bid documents are available on the Municipal Market website at brookhavenny.gov; bidders must register to download project files. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, New York, 3rd Floor. Contact Tamara Branson, Commissioner of the Purchasing Division, at (631) 451-6252 for additional information.
