About this opportunity
The State of Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Division of Procurement Services, acting on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry, is requesting quotations for weekly mowing and trimming services at Reid State Park, with quotations due April 6, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time under RFQ 01A 180323-555.
Maine businesses may receive a price reduction of up to 10 percent based on Maine business investment and economic impact, calculated using W-2 information including Maine payroll percentages and wages paid to Maine residents on the Maine Business and Economic Impact Consideration Form. Evaluation will be based on best value determination, with primary consideration given to lowest price among bidders meeting specifications.
The scope includes weekly grass mowing to maintain a 3-inch height, trimming around obstructions such as sign posts and fences, debris removal, and obstruction patrol prior to mowing, all performed once per week during low public use times on weekdays only with coordination required with the Park Manager. The contractor must provide current certificates of liability insurance in the amount of at least $500,000 and worker's compensation insurance, comply with all state park rules, maintain professional appearance, and wear identifying uniforms.
The contract term is anticipated to be either thirteen weeks (June 11 through September 7, 2018) or twenty weeks (May 1 through September 14, 2018), with the final length to be determined during contract negotiations based on funding availability. Following the initial term, the Division may renew the contract for two additional one-year periods subject to satisfactory performance and continued funding. The selected bidder must register as a State vendor prior to contract award and will be paid monthly upon submission of invoices approved by the Department. All quotations must remain valid for 180 days from bid opening. A non-mandatory pre-bid walk-through tour is scheduled for April 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the facility entrance.
