About this opportunity

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) District 62 is soliciting sealed bids for maintenance mowing, litter and trash collection, and tree and brush removal along 18.79 miles of Interstate 12 in Tangipahoa Parish. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and tour is set for November 10, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at District 62 Headquarters, and bids are due November 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Failure to attend the pre-bid meeting results in bid rejection.

The work runs eastward from the Livingston Parish/Tangipahoa Parish line to the Tangipahoa/St. Tammany Parish line across approximately 493 acres. Mowing cycles must be completed within 20 calendar days, and litter collection cycles within 15 calendar days when performed separately. Brush cutting is measured by acre and tree removal by each tree. The contractor must perform at least 50 percent of the work with its own organization, follow Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices requirements for traffic control, and keep daily records.

The estimated cost range is $100,000 to $250,000. The contract begins upon issuance of the Notice of Contract Execution and runs through December 31, 2027, with DOTD holding the exclusive option to renew for four additional one-year periods. Payment is made at unit bid prices per mowing and litter collection cycle. A fuel adjustment applies to the mowing pay item based on monthly diesel indices when prices vary more than 5 percent from the $4.595 per gallon base. The contractor must furnish a bid bond equal to 5 percent of the total bid for bids exceeding $100,000, insurance with minimum limits of $1 million to $5 million depending on contract value, and payment and performance bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract amount. Stipulated damages of $80 to $630 per calendar day apply to failure to begin or complete work within specified timeframes.
