About this opportunity

Binghamton University is seeking a qualified general contractor to convert the Mountainview Co-Rec field from grass to synthetic turf through a comprehensive construction project. The procurement opportunity involves a complete site transformation, including demolition of existing site features, earthwork, installation of synthetic turf, field lighting, new utilities, electrical receptacles, and athletic seating infrastructure. Prospective bidders must purchase bid documents from nyplanroom.com to be considered responsible, and a mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the physical facilities building's conference room C. The contract has a defined completion timeline of 180 calendar days, with a final completion date of October 31, 2025. Bidders must submit proposals by March 11, 2025, at 2:30 PM, and all official addenda and bidding documents will be exclusively distributed through the designated website.

The contract includes specific subcontracting goals for minority-owned (25%), women-owned (5%), and service-disabled veteran-owned (6%) businesses, though there is no specific service-disabled veteran-owned business set-aside for the primary contract. The procurement references a previous similar project completed by Procon Contracting LLC for a Newing co-rec field conversion with a contract value of $416,000, which may provide context for potential budget expectations. The project is located in Broome County, New York, and involves Binghamton University as the procuring entity. While no specific evaluation criteria are explicitly stated, the requirement to purchase bid documents and attend the pre-bid meeting suggests a structured selection process. Interested contractors should carefully review all documentation and ensure compliance with the specified subcontracting goals and submission requirements.
