About this opportunity
Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania's Bloomsburg Campus is seeking a prime General Contractor to execute the Montgomery Place Apartments Door Replacement project, which involves comprehensive replacement of existing exterior doors, thresholds, and door hardware with new, equivalent components. The procurement will be conducted through a mandatory competitive bidding process utilizing the PennBid electronic platform, with all solicitation documents available at no cost after free registration. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is scheduled for November 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM, located in Monty's Multi-Purpose Room on the Bloomsburg University campus. Electronic bids must be submitted no later than 1:00 PM EDT on December 16, 2025, through the PennBid system. Potential bidders are required to submit any project-related questions through PennBid's "Ask a Question" feature, with responses and potential addenda communicated electronically to registered participants. The project will be accomplished by a single prime contractor in strict accordance with Pennsylvania statutory requirements, with specific coordination and management responsibilities outlined in the contract documents.
While the solicitation does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or specific enterprise restrictions, the procurement appears to be a standard public works contract open to qualified general contractors. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and the scope suggests a direct replacement of existing infrastructure without complex technological integration requirements. The project appears focused on physical infrastructure improvements at the Montgomery Place Apartments, though specific budget allocations or estimated contract values are not disclosed in the available documentation. Interested contractors will need to register on the PennBid platform to access full bidding details, complete technical specifications, and comprehensive project requirements. The procurement is associated with Cumberland County and technically situated in the broader context of Blawnox Borough, though the actual project site is on the Bloomsburg University campus.
