About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is seeking competitive bids for a 12-month supply contract for miscellaneous materials and components for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) through Invitation to Bid DOT-ITB-26-6194EG. The procurement focuses on specific telecommunications infrastructure components, including 57,200 linear feet of all-dielectric single-mode fiber optic cable, orange HDPE conduit, couplers, splice closures, splice trays, and heat shrink protective sleeves. Technical questions are due by January 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM, with sealed bids required to be submitted via email to D6.Purch@dot.state.fl.us by January 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Bidders must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketplace system and submit comprehensive documentation including the In-State Preference Form, E-Verify compliance certification, and Vendor Certification Regarding Scrutinized Companies Lists. The materials must be new, unused, and comply with Buy America sourcing preferences, with a required 90-day warranty covering defective materials and workmanship. A public bid opening is scheduled for 2:00 PM on the submission day, with the intended award posting date of February 2, 2026.

The contract includes several important restrictions and preferences, with an in-state preference of 5% applying to vendors whose principal place of business is in Florida. All bidders must comply with extensive civil rights and nondiscrimination statutes, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and age. A 1% transaction fee will be applied to all payments through the MyFloridaMarketplace system. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the comprehensive specifications and detailed material requirements suggest a substantial procurement value. The contract allows for a potential one-year renewal subject to mutual agreement and satisfactory performance. Alternate brands will not be considered, and FDOT reserves the right to reject any or all bids, potentially awarding contracts on an individual item or combined basis. Federal funds are involved in this procurement, which impacts certain contractual provisions and adds an additional layer of regulatory compliance to the bidding process.
