About this opportunity
Pennsylvania Western University - Clarion Campus is seeking bids for the MH-18 Tunnel Roof Repairs project (PWCL-25001), with proposals due by March 26, 2025. The procurement involves a critical infrastructure repair at the Clarion Campus, specifically targeting approximately twenty feet of steam tunnel roof near vault MH18. Key project deliverables include complete roof replacement, electrical conduit relocation, and concrete spall repairs within the vault. The work will be accomplished through a Separate Prime Contractor methodology, with the General Construction Contractor responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment to complete the project according to contract specifications. Bidders must download bid documents and demonstrate capabilities to perform comprehensive tunnel roof rehabilitation, with a focus on meeting the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education's construction standards. The project requires precise coordination of construction activities, specialized infrastructure knowledge, and adherence to all relevant Pennsylvania construction statutes.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the procurement appears to be open to qualified contractors with demonstrated expertise in higher education infrastructure repair. The project is located within Clinton County, though the specific campus is in Clarion, suggesting potential regional economic impact. No incumbent vendor information or specific budget range was disclosed in the original solicitation. The procurement methodology indicates a competitive bidding process where contractors will be evaluated based on their technical capabilities, proposed approach to the tunnel roof repairs, and ability to complete the work within specified parameters. Interested contractors should carefully review the full bid documents, which likely contain additional detailed requirements for qualification, technical specifications, and submission guidelines. Potential bidders are advised to thoroughly assess the project's technical complexity and ensure they can meet the Pennsylvania Western University's specific infrastructure rehabilitation needs.
