About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotes for metal roofing materials for Washington Building #36162, with quotes due October 11, 2010. The procurement is conducted through the AdvantageME Vendor Self Service system; questions must be submitted through the system's Question and Answer link no later than 24 hours before bid closing, and quotes may be submitted at any time during the solicitation period.
The scope comprises metal roofing and siding panels, fastening hardware, sealants, and trim components specified in detailed bill-of-materials format: 200 pieces of 24-foot SL-16 dark green price panels, ridge caps, eave and gable trim, tape sealers, wood-grip and pancake screws, soffit and fascia fasteners, profile vents and closures, and finishing materials. The project site is located on Route 17, 0.5 miles west of Union in Washington, Maine. Mark Farmer, a registered carpenter, is the primary contact.
Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value to the State of Maine, with consideration of goods quality, specification conformance, delivery dates, and overall economy. Bidders must submit separate unit prices per item, delivered to destination with all trade and quantity discounts included; cash discounts and terms must be specified separately. All transportation charges shall be prepaid and borne by the contractor. In case of tied bids, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured commodities. The state is exempt from federal and Maine sales and use taxes and should not be quoted those charges. The state reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities or technicalities, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%, and procure alternative materials at the contractor's expense in case of default.
