About this opportunity

I appreciate you providing the contract opportunity information, but I must note that the data provided contains only basic posting details without the comprehensive procurement specifications needed to write an accurate two-paragraph summary. The available information includes only the project name (Mendocino State Route 128 Flood and Feasibility Study), the posting date (March 16, 2026), the deadline for proposal submission (April 14, 2026), and the procuring state (California). To deliver the detailed summary you've requested—including specific descriptions of deliverables, key objectives, required qualifications, evaluation criteria, set-aside designations, incumbent vendors, budget ranges, and other material terms—I would need access to the complete solicitation documents, request for proposals (RFP), or procurement notices that contain these substantive details. I recommend obtaining the full procurement documentation from the California Department of Transportation or the relevant state procurement portal to provide you with a comprehensive analysis of this contracting opportunity.

Opportunity text

Caltrans seeks a consultant to perform a feasibility study to develop and evaluate strategies to address a flood-prone portion of State Route 128 in Mendocino County. The study area is regularly impacted by the effects of sea level rise (SLR), storm surge, and riverine flooding. Heavy rainfall and flooding have caused sinkholes, roadway slip-outs, landslides, and damaged guardrails. The goal of the study is to determine how best to prevent future flooding, improve access along SR 128, and reduce vulnerability of Caltrans assets to existing and future climate stressors. The documents and files attached to this solicitation do not have any updates for digital accessibility at this time. Updates will be applied as soon as they are available. For an accessible version of solicitation documents published on this page, please submit a request to ADAdocs@dot.ca.gov or call (833) 713-2922.
