About this opportunity
The City of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Department of Housing and Community Development is requesting bids on kitchen renovations and one gas boiler replacement at three residential units located at 465, 467, and 469 Summit Street under ITB McGrath House Kitchen Renovations, with sealed bids due November 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site walk-through on October 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. is required; failure to attend or arriving more than ten minutes late results in bidder ineligibility.
Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rates apply to this project. Contractors must hold a Connecticut contractor's license, provide proof of valid Federal I.D. and state tax identification numbers, and comply with suspension and debarment requirements under federal regulations.
The scope includes installation of Hampton Bay Shaker White cabinets, bullnose countertops, 30-inch ducted range hoods, 2-foot by 2-foot LED panel lighting, and luxury vinyl plank flooring with moisture-barrier underlayment in three kitchens, plus one high-efficiency GWA 100-N-S3 gas boiler replacement in the basement. All materials must be new and commercially graded quality. The contractor is solely responsible for obtaining all building permits and ensuring successful building inspections. Bids are organized in four lump-sum line items: boiler replacement, first floor kitchen, second floor kitchen, and third floor kitchen.
A ten percent bid bond or certified check is required if the total bid equals or exceeds $100,000. Upon award, the successful contractor must post a 100 percent payment and performance bond. General liability insurance must name the City as an additional insured. Sealed bids are submitted at the City of Bridgeport Department of Public Purchases, 2nd floor, 999 Broad Street, either electronically through OpenGov or by paper (one original, three copies, and one electronic copy via thumb drive). No work commences until the City issues a Purchase Order.
