About this opportunity
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is requesting sealed bids for construction improvements to the maintenance facility at Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site in Jackson County, with proposals due September 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. on-site at 5466 Harper House Road, Four Oaks, North Carolina, and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on August 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the project site.
The scope consists of improvements to the existing maintenance field and barn area, including construction of a new pre-engineered pole barn structure with enclosed bays and storage. The concrete slab is sized to accommodate up to seven total bays.
General contractors must hold an Unlimited license classification. Bids must be submitted as lump sum proposals for single prime work and may be emailed to David Lewis at david.lewis@dncr.nc.gov. Each proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit or certified check equal to not less than five percent of the proposal amount, or a bid bond of five percent executed by a North Carolina-licensed surety company. A performance bond and payment bond will be required for one hundred percent of the contract price. Payment will be made based on ninety-five percent of monthly estimates with final payment upon completion and acceptance of work. Bids may not be withdrawn for thirty days after the scheduled closing time.
Complete plans and specifications are available for inspection at RVE, Inc. in Durham; Associated General Contractors plan rooms in Raleigh, Charlotte, and Greensboro; McGraw Hill Dodge Corporation offices; Reed Construction Data online; and the East Coast Digital Minority Plan Room in Greenville.
