About this opportunity
San Bernardino County Regional Parks Department is requesting bids for live trout delivery and supply during the 2026-27 fishing season under ITB, with bids due June 22, 2026 at 4:30 PM PST and a question deadline of June 12, 2026. A 5% local-vendor preference applies to vendors with principal places of business within San Bernardino County boundaries. California prevailing wage requirements under Labor Code sections 1770 et seq. and 1773 et seq. apply; contractors must register with the California Department of Industrial Relations, maintain certified monthly payroll records, comply with apprenticeship ratios for apprenticeable crafts (one apprentice hour per five journeyman hours), and submit DAS-140 forms within ten days of award. Violations carry penalties of $200 per calendar day per worker for wage underpayment, $100 per calendar day per worker for payroll record failures, and $25 per worker per calendar day for excess-hours violations.
The County seeks approximately 35,000 to 150,000 pounds of live trout in three size grades: 20% averaging one pound each, 40% averaging 1.5 to 2 pounds each, and 40% averaging 3 to 10 pounds each, with some 6-to-12-pound fish for derby stockings. Deliveries occur on Thursdays from November 2026 through March 2027 to five regional parks: Cucamonga-Guasti, Glen Helen, Mojave Narrows, Prado, and Yucaipa. Fish must be transported in tank trucks with standard pumps and aeration equipment per industry best practices; vendors must provide duplicate waybills at delivery documenting net weight and remove dead, diseased, parasitized, and dying fish with weight deductions applied. Pricing is F.O.B. destination with freight charged separately; sales tax and Federal excise tax excluded. Payment terms are Net 30 days following acceptance. Contract award is anticipated in July 2026. Bids must be submitted electronically through San Bernardino County's ePro system or in sealed hard copy to the County Purchasing Department.
