About this opportunity
The State of Georgia is initiating a comprehensive procurement for liquid propane supply through an electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) designed to establish a robust supply base for state and local government entities. The procurement seeks suppliers capable of delivering liquid propane in two distinct order categories: Retail Size Order (50-9,000 gallons) and Bulk Size Order (greater than 9,000 gallons), covering all 159 counties within the state. The state's strategic approach allows for multiple suppliers, with up to two suppliers per county in the Retail Size Order category and up to two suppliers per region in the Bulk Size Order category. Suppliers must bid on a minimum of one county in the Retail Size Order or one region in the Bulk Size Order category to be considered eligible. Key objectives include ensuring quality product delivery, timely service, and high levels of customer care across government users. The solicitation was posted on December 11, 2024, with proposals due by January 14, 2025, and aims to create a comprehensive statewide contract for liquid propane distribution.
The procurement does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises based on the provided information. Suppliers must demonstrate capability to deliver liquid propane across designated geographical areas, with the state divided into twelve distinct regions as outlined in the 12 Region Sourcing Map (Attachment G). While specific award values are not detailed, the procurement strategy allows for single or multiple awards, suggesting flexibility in vendor selection. Authorized users requiring less than 50 gallons of liquid propane will be permitted to utilize the open market. The contract appears designed to create a flexible, responsive supply chain for liquid propane that can accommodate varying governmental needs across different scales of operation. The state's approach indicates a comprehensive procurement strategy aimed at establishing a reliable, competitive liquid propane supply network for government entities throughout Georgia.
