About this opportunity
The Town of Groton, located in New London County, Connecticut, is seeking a vendor to supply Liquid Calcium Nitrate through an Invitation to Bid (ITB 23-26). The procurement is structured to establish a single vendor capable of providing this specific chemical product with free on board (FOB) destination delivery terms. Prospective bidders must complete a bid form and company information sheet as part of their submission. The solicitation opens on April 27, 2023, at 3:30 PM EDT and closes on May 17, 2023, at 2:30 PM EDT, with a vendor question and answer period running from April 27 to May 9, 2023. Interested vendors can direct inquiries to Karl Klein at the Town of Groton, reachable at 860-441-6681 or kklein@groton-ct.gov. The ITB requires vendors to exclude any taxes from which the Town is legally exempted, and the Town will complete any necessary tax exemption forms within its legal parameters. Payment terms will be specified by the vendor, and the solicitation includes multiple document attachments, including the main ITB document and an addendum.
The ITB is open to all vendors without any specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no specified integration requirements with existing infrastructure or technology. The solicitation does not provide an estimated total contract value or budget range, leaving pricing and financial terms to be determined by the responding vendors. No specific evaluation criteria are outlined in the available documents, suggesting a potentially straightforward selection process based on vendor compliance with the ITB requirements and pricing. The contract appears to be for a single procurement of Liquid Calcium Nitrate, with the Town of Groton as the sole recipient of the goods. The lack of detailed specifications suggests the Town is seeking a flexible procurement approach that allows vendors to propose their best solutions for supplying the required chemical product.
