About this opportunity
The state and local contract opportunity is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the Lift Station #7 Rehabilitation & Upgrade Improvements project, issued by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) and located in Orange County, Florida. The procurement seeks comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrade services for a municipal lift station, with a detailed scope of work that includes replacing submersible pumps, installing a diesel backup pump, replacing the fuel storage tank, and implementing an epoxy lining system for wetwell walls and ceiling. Key deliverables encompass providing a biological odor control unit with activated carbon polishing, installing chopper pumps for wetwell conditioning, adding a submersible mixer, modifying discharge piping and wetwell interior hydraulics, and replacing electrical, instrumentation, and control components. The solicitation, identified as Bid #C006739, requires electronic submission through the PlanetBids platform by January 3, 2025, with bidders mandated to register on this platform beforehand. Potential bidders must carefully review all project specifications and comply with the electronic submission requirements to be considered for the contract.
The procurement appears to have preferences for local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses, suggesting potential set-aside or priority considerations for these categories of enterprises. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated in the provided documentation, the comprehensive nature of the lift station rehabilitation implies a substantial infrastructure investment. Vendors must demonstrate technical capability to perform complex municipal infrastructure upgrades, including pump replacement, hydraulic modifications, and advanced control system installations. The CFTOD emphasizes transparency and fair competition through its electronic bidding platform, which is free for vendor registration. The project represents a significant municipal infrastructure improvement effort, targeting enhanced pumping capabilities, operational efficiency, and infrastructure resilience through comprehensive rehabilitation of the existing lift station infrastructure.
