About this opportunity

Auburn University is requesting sealed bids for landscape services including tree removal, pruning, and stump grinding, with bids due September 16, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. CDT. The contract runs October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with Auburn University holding the option to renew for four additional one-year periods.

The contractor must be a licensed General Contractor in Alabama and employ an ISA Certified Arborist to supervise all work and serve as the primary interface with Auburn University. Services include deadwood pruning, crown thinning and raising, vista pruning, aesthetic pruning, unsafe-limb removal, complete tree removal with debris hauling, and stump grinding to a minimum depth of 18 inches below ground surface. The contractor must demonstrate capability to use lightweight, turf-sensitive equipment and rope-climbing methods when bucket trucks are inappropriate. Response times are 36 hours for general service requests and one hour with 12-hour on-site arrival for emergency and storm-damage calls.

Pricing must be quoted on a crew-hour basis using the tiered unit-pricing structure provided, organized by tree-diameter breast-height classifications. The Equipment Inventory List must document access to a minimum 12 cubic-yard dump truck, heavy-duty truck loaders with 15-foot booms, mini loaders under 6,000 pounds, at least one 60-foot aerial-lift bucket truck, lightweight self-propelled aerial lifts under 11,000 pounds with 100-foot working height, tree climbing equipment meeting ANSI standards, and stump-grinding equipment with 20–65 horsepower ratings. All work exceeding $5,000 requires departmental and Facilities authorization prior to commencement. The contractor bears full responsibility for repairing any campus damage and providing turf mats when required. All work must comply with ANSI A300 and ANSI Z133 standards.

Bids must be submitted on an F.O.B. Destination – Freight Prepaid and Allowed basis. Bidders must provide a completed notarized disclosure statement and certify compliance with Alabama sales tax registration and the Alabama Competitive Bid Law. An E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding or statement confirming no Alabama operations is required. Bid opening will be conducted through the JAGGAER portal with public announcement via conference call; vendor names will be announced but pricing details will not be read aloud. Auburn University reserves the right to award in whole or in part, by line item, or make multiple awards.
