About this opportunity
The Long Beach Public Utilities Department is requesting bids on laboratory materials and supplies for water quality testing operations under ITB UD-25-239, with bids due March 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (extended from March 13 via Addendum 2).
The scope comprises 402 line items of laboratory consumables, chemicals, standards, equipment, and supplies. Bidders must submit unit prices for all items with delivery and associated fees included; provide a 10% bid bond or certified check; submit three current customer references; include manufacturer's standard warranty documentation; and demonstrate at least three years of experience providing laboratory materials and supplies. Delivery must occur within seven business days of release notice, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., to the LBPUD Treatment Plant at 2950 Redondo Avenue, Long Beach, California 90806. Questions were due March 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., with responses posted by March 6.
A local preference of five to ten credit points applies to Long Beach-based businesses holding current business licenses and seller's permits. Contractors must comply with the Equal Benefits Ordinance nondiscrimination provisions.
The initial contract term is twelve months from award, with two optional one-year extensions by mutual agreement, subject to price increase caps of 10% per extension period. Contractors must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance of $1 million combined single limit per occurrence, automobile liability of $500,000, and workers' compensation as required by California law, with the Board named as additional insured. Invoices require payment within thirty days of receipt following acceptance of delivered goods. Award basis is unit pricing without consideration of quantity estimates, which LBPUD reserves the right to increase or decrease based on actual operational needs. Addendum 1 (March 6) provided manufacturer part numbers and detailed specifications for all 402 line items.
