About this opportunity
Kennesaw State University (KSU) has issued an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) to establish a contract for bus shelter procurement and installation through the State Purchasing Act, with proposals due on January 13, 2025. The primary objective is to replace and install new bus shelters on KSU campuses, supporting the University's Pedestrian Project goals and promoting environmentally friendly transportation options. Specific procurement requirements include removing and disposing of existing shelters, site preparation, and installing two shelter sizes: 4-foot by 10-foot and 7-foot by 14-foot configurations. The Department of Parking and Transportation will serve as the primary point of contact, and the project aims to enhance campus safety by creating well-lit, monitored waiting areas that reduce pedestrian exposure to adverse weather conditions. Contractors must collaborate with the Department of Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) to ensure compliance with campus standards and regulations, and the shelters must meet specified safety and design specifications.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor participation were explicitly mentioned in the provided documentation. The procurement appears to be open to qualified suppliers capable of meeting the technical and installation specifications for bus shelters. While specific budget ranges were not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the project involves removal, site preparation, delivery, construction, and installation of multiple shelters across KSU campuses. The contract will likely be awarded to one or more qualified suppliers who demonstrate the ability to meet the technical requirements and campus integration standards. The procurement is specifically located in Cobb County, Georgia, and is focused on enhancing campus transportation infrastructure through strategic shelter improvements that support pedestrian mobility and safety.
