About this opportunity

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Parks & Recreation Division, Stewardship Unit is seeking bids for the control of invasive herbaceous plants, specifically spotted knapweed (Centaurea spp.) and sweet-clover (Melilotus spp.), at Wilderness State Park (Emmet County) and Cheboygan State Park (Cheboygan County). The project also includes the control of reed canary grass at isolated locations at Cheboygan State Park. The objectives are to substantially reduce the presence of the invasive plants through targeted herbicide application and hand pulling. Bidders must be pre-qualified in the areas of herbaceous control and herbicide application, and the work must be completed between June 30 and September 16, 2022. Bids are due on June 27, 2022, at 2:00 pm, and will be evaluated for technical pass/fail, with only those that pass having their pricing evaluated. The contract will be awarded to the most cost-efficient, effective vendor that can complete the work with the least amount of damage to surrounding native vegetation, and a different vendor may be awarded for each park.

The procurement is not designated as a set-aside, and there are no restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The current incumbent or contractor is not specified, and the budget range or possible award value is also not provided in the available information.
