About this opportunity
Temple University is seeking qualified electrical construction contractors for the Klein CPCA Building Project located at 1830 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The procurement is a multi-prime contract delivery structure for constructing a new 198,000 gross square foot mixed-use facility that will house the Klein College of Media and Communication and The Center for Performing and Cinematic Arts. The project involves building a ground-up facility with 146,000 GSF dedicated to academic programs and 52,000 GSF for theater programs, including classrooms, studios, faculty offices, administrative spaces, and student areas. The electrical construction package requires comprehensive services encompassing labor, materials, supervision, tools, supplies, equipment, insurance, and applicable taxes to complete the electrical components as specified in the contract documents. Interested contractors must register through TUebid, Temple University's online solicitation management system, by contacting Naomi Greenberg at projects@temple.edu no later than 2:00 p.m. EST on December 12, 2024. The electrical construction package is scheduled for bid release on December 19, 2024, with bids due on January 30, 2025. The project aims to achieve LEEDv4 Silver and WELLv2 Silver certifications and is subject to a Delegation Agreement between Temple, the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, and the Governor's Office of the Budget.
The procurement opportunity has specific registration and participation requirements, with strict guidelines about vendor eligibility. No bids will be accepted from entities not registered in the TUebid system, and bidders cannot be contingent partnerships or joint ventures whose existence depends on contract award. While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed, the multi-prime contract structure suggests potential opportunities for various contractor configurations. The project does not list incumbent vendors or specify precise budget ranges, though the comprehensive scope suggests a significant capital investment for the approximately 198,000 GSF facility. Potential bidders must demonstrate technical capability to perform electrical construction services for a complex, state-of-the-art academic and performing arts building. The procurement process emphasizes thorough documentation, system registration, and timely communication, with all bidding information processed exclusively through Temple's TUebid platform. Contractors will need to showcase expertise in electrical systems integration, sustainability certifications, and complex institutional construction environments.
