About this opportunity

Clawson Public Schools, located in Berrien County, Michigan, is soliciting competitive bids for the replacement of kitchen cooler and freezer condensing units at two facilities: Clawson Middle School and Clawson High School. This is a lump sum procurement project (Project 211903) requiring bidders to submit original and two copies of their proposals to Jackie Johnston, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, at the Lyle Baker Building (626 Phillips Ave, Clawson, MI 48017) no later than 2:00 pm on Friday, April 9, 2021, with public bid opening and reading to follow at 2:15 pm. A pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 3:30 pm at Clawson High School (101 John M Ave, Clawson, MI 48017); while attendance is not mandatory, bidders should note that no extra costs will be allowed for items visible during site visits. Bidding documents, prepared by Wakely Associates Inc./Architects in Warren, Michigan, are available beginning March 17, 2021, through ARC (1009 W. Maple Road, Clawson, MI 48107) or by contacting Wakely Associates Inc. at 586-573-4100 or aduda@wakelyaia.com. Each proposal must include a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationships between the bidder or its employees and members of the School Board, administration, or staff, with bids lacking this statement subject to rejection. Additional site visits can be arranged by contacting Christine Scott, Executive Director of Operations, at Christine.scott@clawsonschools.org.

All proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or satisfactory surety bid bond equal to at least five percent of the total bid price, with bid bonds and checks to be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within five days of bid opening and remaining guaranties returned after contract execution or within sixty days if no award is made. Proposals may not be withdrawn for sixty days after the bid submission deadline. The procurement documents do not identify any set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, minority-owned businesses, or women-owned businesses, nor do they reference an incumbent contractor or existing infrastructure requiring integration. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the available procurement documentation. Clawson Public Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, and accept the bid that best serves the district's interests.
