About this opportunity

The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting bids on eighty-one Kenwood TK-5210K7-LKP VHF P25 portable radio packages, with bids due June 22, 2009. This is a single-source equipment specification — the Kenwood model is not negotiable.

Each unit is a 5-watt, 64-channel VHF portable radio operating in the 136–174 MHz frequency range. The scope includes comprehensive accessories: KNB-43L 3300 mAh Li-Polymer batteries, KSC-32 rapid-rate desk chargers, KBH-11 belt clips, KRA-26M and KRA-16M VHF helical and speaker-microphone antennas, KMC-26 heavy-duty remote speaker microphones with integrated antennas, and KLH-133K2 heavy-duty leather carry cases. All radios must be factory-sealed and new. Prior to shipment, each unit must be bench tested and pre-configured with a base program supplied by Maine State Police. Programming software is required as a single copy, not per-unit. Delivery to Augusta, Maine is required within fifteen business days of order receipt; all shipping and handling costs must be included in pricing at no additional charge to the state.

In the event of a tie bid, Maine State Purchasing policy grants preference to in-state bidders or those offering products manufactured or services rendered in Maine. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities or technicalities, and award to the lowest responsible bidder offering best overall value considering quality, conformity, delivery, and cost. Contractors must furnish items exactly as specified; deviation may result in rejection. Pricing must exclude federal and Maine state sales and use taxes. The state may increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to ten percent.
