About this opportunity

The state of Georgia, specifically Early County, is seeking sealed bids for the Kennedy Bridge Drainage Improvements project (PE24271), with proposals due on June 11th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Evans County Commissioners Office. The procurement involves comprehensive drainage and road infrastructure improvements, including construction of upstream and downstream concrete aprons, structural repairs to the northwest corner of the culvert, removal and regrading of existing material, installation of rip-rap for erosion control, and full-depth replacement of the southbound lane and shoulder of Kennedy Bridge Road. Contractors must provide proof of a valid Georgia Utility Contractor license and employ a Utility Manager certification holder to oversee the work. The project requires excavation to a depth of 3 feet in two designated areas behind the headwall and wingwalls, with a total project completion timeline of 90 calendar days. Bid documents can be obtained from Parker Engineering, LLC for a non-refundable fee of $150.00 per full-size set, and all bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier's check for no less than 10% of the base bid.

The solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must meet specific licensing requirements, including holding a valid Utility Contractor license from the State of Georgia and having a Utility Manager certification holder on staff. While no incumbent vendors are identified, the project involves significant infrastructure improvements to an existing bridge and roadway. Potential contractors should be prepared to integrate their work with existing infrastructure and demonstrate technical expertise in drainage improvements, road reconstruction, and erosion control. Although a specific budget range is not provided, the complexity of the project—involving concrete work, road replacement, and drainage modifications—suggests a substantial capital investment. Interested parties are advised to carefully review the complete contract documents and ensure compliance with all technical specifications and licensing requirements before submitting a bid.
