About this opportunity
Henry County Schools is soliciting information on K–5 Tier 1 reading resources for elementary schools under an RFI with responses due October 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. EST. This RFI will not result in a contract award; vendors identified as qualified will be eligible for future formal solicitations.
The district serves approximately 17,700 K–5 students across 28 elementary schools and approximately 785 teachers. The required solution must balance print and digital learning materials organized around a clear scope and sequence of reading, language, and vocabulary instruction aligned to Georgia State Standards and Henry County's Teaching and Learning Standards.
Digital components must be device-agnostic and support integration via open standards including Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI), utilize HTML5 with responsive design, support Single Sign-On through Active Directory and LDAP, and include API compliance. Content must be current and regularly updated with guest login access for teachers and students.
Required instructional resources include teacher-ready materials for differentiated instruction; foundational reading skills instruction; diverse literary and informational texts; vocabulary instruction connected to reading comprehension; embedded grammar and syntax instruction; writing opportunities about reading; oral language and listening engagement activities; and multiple assessment types including diagnostic, progress monitoring, and summative assessments for oral reading fluency, reading comprehension, and vocabulary.
All responses must be submitted electronically through the Bonfire platform, with physical product samples due at the district office by October 22. The question submission deadline was October 15, 2021, with responses posted October 19. The evaluation period runs November 1 through December 3, 2021, with board recommendations scheduled for December 13 and vendor notifications December 14–17.
