About this opportunity

Palm Beach County, Florida issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase and delivery of junction boxes, covers, and marking plates on a term contract basis, with responses due by September 4, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Palm Beach County time. The procurement encompasses sheet molding compound (SMC) junction boxes with bolt-down covers in five size variations (11" x 18" x 12", 13" x 24" x 12", 17" x 30" x 12", 17" x 30" x 24", and 30" x 48" x 24"), with estimated quantities of 30, 60, 40, 35, and 30 units respectively, along with 65 matching covers in multiple dimensions and 300 marking plates across four designations for traffic signals, street lighting, and fiber optic applications. All junction boxes and covers must comply with Florida Department of Transportation Minimum Specifications for Traffic Control Signals and Devices, meet ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance standards, and conform to ANSI/SCTE 77-2002 standards with a minimum Tier 15 load rating and 20,000 PSI compressive strength. Pricing must be firm and fixed for the initial twelve-month term and any optional renewal periods, with all unit prices expressed as single fixed prices to two decimal points and inclusive of shipping, labor, transportation, and incidental expenses. Delivery shall be made Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, on an F.O.B. destination basis with County payment rendered upon satisfaction and acceptance of delivered items. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder on an all-or-none basis and shall remain effective for twelve months or until the estimated amount is expended, with four optional one-year renewal periods exercisable at the County's discretion.

Palm Beach County offers a five percent local preference to vendors with a permanent place of business in Palm Beach County, with an additional five percent preference available for Glades-based businesses providing goods for use within the Glades. Small, minority, and women-owned business (S/M/WBE) participation goals apply to this procurement, with only firms certified by Palm Beach County at the time of quote submission counted toward established goals. The County reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities to meet actual requirements, and submissions were acceptable via fax or email. No incumbent vendors, existing infrastructure integration requirements, or specific award values were identified in the solicitation materials. This re-quote procurement indicates prior contract experience with similar goods and specifications, suggesting established quality standards and delivery expectations based on previous procurement cycles.
