About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids for a John Deere 328 Twine Baler, with bids due June 25, 2008.
The solicitation calls for a John Deere 328 Twine Baler equipped with full-width feeding pickup with crank adjustment, adjustable hay compressor, deep-flighted auger feeding at 540 rpm via PTO powershaft, accurate knotters with twine storage, hydraulic bale tension control, and plungerhead extensions. The equipment is designed for large windrow capacity and quiet, dependable operation in field conditions.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value, with consideration of quality, conformity with specifications, delivery dates, and ultimate cost. In the event of tie bids, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering Maine-produced commodities or services. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item, with pricing delivered to destination including all applicable discounts and transportation charges. The State of Maine is exempt from federal and state sales taxes. Contractors must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the Maine Chemical Substance Identification Law requiring material safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals. The Division of Purchases reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, accept individual items, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent unless otherwise stated. Payment terms and cash discounts must be clearly specified; discounts under 20 days are not considered in contract awards.
