About this opportunity

The State of Maine is requesting quotes for an IV infusion pump for Maine State Purchasing, with quotes due October 24, 2012. This is an RFQ governed by the State of Maine Division of Purchases, with all vendor questions required to be submitted through the official Question and Answer portal on the solicitation details page; no alternative question submission methods are accepted.

The scope covers an FDA-cleared IV infusion pump system meeting detailed clinical and safety specifications for use in correctional healthcare settings. Required functional capabilities include programmable flow rates, multiple infusion modes, occlusion detection, air-in-line detection, alarm systems with battery backup, accuracy tolerances across specified flow ranges, compatibility with standard IV administration sets, data logging capability, and user-friendly interface design. The pump must meet applicable industry standards for medical devices and integrate with existing healthcare management systems.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value, with evaluation considering quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. In cases of tied bids, in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured commodities or services receive preference. Bidders may propose alternate commodities with complete descriptive literature if deemed in the State's best interest. The State reserves the right to award on an item-by-item basis or as a group and may reject any or all quotes or waive formalities and technicalities. Electronic quotes must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. local time on the closing date. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine state sales taxes and will not include these costs in pricing. All transportation charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts are considered only if the payment period is 20 days or more. The State reserves the right to increase or decrease order quantities by up to 10% unless otherwise stated.
