About this opportunity
The Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission (BGJWSC) is soliciting sealed bids for ITB 25-006, specifically Division II of the Exit 29 Water Production Facility & Elevated Storage Tank project located in Brunswick, Georgia. The procurement involves constructing a 500,000-gallon elevated water storage tank with associated site improvements, including approximately 1,100 linear feet of 12-inch distribution piping, site piping, fence work, grading, and clearing. Key project deliverables encompass comprehensive site preparation, tank design, painting, electrical work, SCADA systems, concrete installations, and all necessary appurtenances to complete the infrastructure development. Bidders must demonstrate significant experience, including completion of at least five similar elevated tank projects of 500,000 gallons or greater, ownership of fabrication facilities, and maintaining a qualified on-site supervisor with a Georgia Utility Contractor License. The bid solicitation requires a 5% bid bond, with bids due on March 6, 2025, at 12:00 NOON EST, and an optional pre-bid teleconference and site visit scheduled for February 19, 2025, with questions due by February 21, 2025. The project timeline mandates substantial completion within 540 calendar days and final completion within 600 calendar days.
The contract is funded through the SPLOST 2022 referendum approved by Glynn County voters, with an anticipated award date of March 20, 2025. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the procurement requires substantial contractor qualifications, including maintaining specific insurance coverage of $2 million in general aggregate liability, $2 million each occurrence liability, and $2 million in umbrella coverage. The selected contractor will be responsible for all policy deductible costs and must furnish 100% performance and payment bonds. The project is part of a larger water infrastructure development, with Divisions I and III related to well improvements and water production facility work already awarded on January 16, 2025. No coordination between the divisions is anticipated, suggesting this is a segmented infrastructure improvement initiative. Although the exact contract value is not specified, the comprehensive scope of work and extensive infrastructure requirements suggest a significant capital investment in water production and distribution infrastructure for the Brunswick-Glynn County area.
