About this opportunity
The Town of Brooklyn, Connecticut, located in Tolland County, has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB #15174) for comprehensive trash and recycling services. The procurement seeks a contractor to provide two primary services: first, transportation and disposal of acceptable waste and bulky waste from the Town's Transfer Station located on Rukstela Road, with weekly or more frequent collection as needed, including the provision of necessary roll-off containers. Second, the contractor will be responsible for bi-weekly curbside collection and disposal of single-stream recyclables from all Brooklyn households, municipal buildings, and the Transfer Station, with a requirement to supply one 95-gallon cart per residence for recyclable materials. The solicitation opens on April 25, 2023, at 8:00 AM EDT and closes on May 9, 2023, at 8:00 AM EDT, with all bids due by the closing date. Interested vendors are instructed to contact Austin Tanner, First Selectman of the Town of Brooklyn, for any questions regarding the solicitation. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, though specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the documents.
The ITB appears to be open to all vendors without specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types. No information is provided about disadvantaged enterprise requirements or preferences. The solicitation does not disclose the current incumbent vendor or any existing infrastructure that might require integration. Payment terms are specified as "vendor-specified," and no estimated total contract value is provided in the documentation. There are no defined line items, and the contract duration is not explicitly stated. The delivery terms are listed as "Not Applicable," and no specific budget range or potential award value is indicated. Vendors will be expected to provide their own pricing structure and terms, with the primary focus being on meeting the specified service requirements for waste and recycling collection and disposal in the Town of Brooklyn.
