The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has posted two distinct contracting opportunities. The first is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for a statewide pavement striping and marking contract. TxDOT is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide pavement striping and marking services on state roads and highways across Texas. The contract will be for an initial one-year term with options to renew for up to four additional one-year terms. Bids are due by 3:00 PM CT on August 23, 2022, and a mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on August 10, 2022. Bidders must attend the pre-bid conference to be eligible to submit a bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and the IFB provides detailed specifications for the required services, including materials, equipment, and performance standards. The second opportunity is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for transportation construction design services. TxDOT is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide professional engineering services for the design of various transportation projects across the state. The initial contract term is for three years with the option to renew for up to two additional one-year terms. TxDOT has set aside 10% of the total contract value for small and disadvantaged business enterprises (SBE/DBE), and the current incumbent is ABC Engineering, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the year. The total contract value is estimated at $15 million per year, and funding will come from state and federal transportation sources.
