About this opportunity
The City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department has issued an Intent to Single Source (ISS 26-X-01868) for Advanced Hydration System Tree Mats (TreeDiapers), with a due date of September 25, 2026. This is a sole-source procurement.
The TreeDiapers are designed to provide consistent watering during a one-year tree establishment period by absorbing rainwater and releasing water gradually as soil dries, reducing daily watering requirements by residents, conserving water during droughts and watering restrictions, and lowering maintenance costs.
Vendor eligibility is restricted to authorized manufacturer distributors or dealers capable of quoting the product and providing warranty service, maintenance, and repairs. Prospective bidders must submit documentation confirming authorization status as a vendor for this product or service.
Responses should be submitted through the City of Tampa's online supplier portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cityoftampa. The ISS document does not specify contract value, quantity, contract term, or renewal options.
Opportunity text
The advanced Hydration System Tree Mats will provide consistent watering during the establishment period (1 year) after planting. They have the unique ability to absorb rainwater and slowly release the water as the soil dries. This will assist residents by reducing the necessity of watering the newly planted trees on a daily basis, saving them money. They will also be a more stable source of water during droughts and watering restrictions as even intermittent rainfall can be absorbed and slowly released. .
